INSTEAD of sulking after yet another sorry defeat, Joseph Nalos said the close loss to league leader Far Eastern University has only given Adamson Falcons confidence this season.

Nalos scored nine points including a go-ahead layup over fellow Cebuano Monbert Arong with 49 seconds left, 58-57, flexing his muscles for good effect as the Southwestern University hotshot sensed a giant upset.

However, Mike Tolomia quickly answered with a three-pointer for the Tamaraws and Nalos and Co. never found the answers as FEU escaped with a 64-60 win.

When interviewed by a handful of sports scribes after the game, Nalos was frustrated but nonetheless optimistic after coming so close to toppling the league leaders.

“Mahirap talaga kasi alam naman natin na number one ‘yung FEU. Sana nanalo pero kinapos,” said Nalos. “Hindi kami down kasi natalo pero parang masaya kami na hindi kami natambakan at may chance pa kaming manalo.

"Dagger lang talaga ‘yung tinira ni Tolomia,” he added.
