WHETHER Far Eastern University wins big or by the smallest of margins, one thing remained constant: Count on Terrence Romeo to be at the forefront of the Tamaraws' charge.
The former Rookie of the Year has averaged a team-best 16.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists in the Tamaraws' perfect 4-0 run -- enough to earn the UAAP Player of the Week award.
“Fighting spirit at mental toughness nagpapanalo sa amin. Kulang pa kasi kami sa maturity kaya dun kami bumabawi,” said Romeo.
Romeo matched his career-high of 23 points, capped by a game-clinching three-point play, in leading FEU to a 65-62 escape over the Adamson Falcons last Thursday.
In the Tamaraws' third straight thriller, the 5-foot-10 guard also hauled down eight rebounds, dished out six assists and had two steals and a block.
Three days later, Romeo again starred with 19 markers, five boards and eight assists in the Tamaraws' first decisive win, 92-66, against the University of the East Warriors.
“Maganda ang samahan ng team, nagtutulungan sila ni RR (Garcia),” said FEU coach Bert Flores.
Romeo was the unanimous choice for the this weeks' citation, beating out Ateneo's Greg Slaughter and University of Santo Tomas' Jeric Teng.
