TO err is human, but to not learn from such mistakes is inexcusable.
These are the words CJ Cansino has always lived by as he rides into the sunset of what has been a remarkable UAAP career with both University of Sto. Tomas and University of the Philippines.
With three runners-up medals and a UAAP championship under his belt — along with every other roadblock he bumped and tripped on along the way — he's had quite a rocky rollercoaster ride to say the least.

Cansino, who missed his penultimate finals stint with the Fighting Maroons to injury and just fell short of the crown in his UAAP swan song, vowed to proudly carry the victories, defeats, and all in between as he leaves his college career behind.
"Sa’kin kasi, part ng buhay ‘yung mali eh. Kapag nagkamali ka, you make sure na matututo ka na lang sa mali na ‘yun. And ‘yun ‘yung lagi kong mindset na ‘pag may mali akong nagawa, matututo ako," Cansino told SPIN.ph.
The outgoing UP skipper also took pride in the fact that he and the rest of the Fighting Maroons have consistently delivered immeasurable contributions beyond just mere numbers.
"Hindi lang points ‘yung kailangan mong maitulong sa team. Maybe ‘yun ‘yung nakikita ng mga fans pero para sa’kin, minsan kasi kailangang maging spacer, kailangang dumepensa, kailangang rumebound, depende na rin kung ano ‘yung ibabato sa’yo ng depensa.
"Binato ng La Salle na medyo naka-tao sa’kin kaya medyo nahirapan din ako kumuha ng bola, so para sa’kin okay lang ‘yun na spacer ako, maraming na-create ‘yung mga teammates ko. Natutuwa ako kasi ‘yung mga puntos na dapat sa’kin, sila nakakakuha," said Cansino.
And it is UP's Season 85 championship, his collegiate crowning glory, which the charismatic captain will always and forever be grateful for.
"Kapag champion ka kasi, parang madadala mo na ‘yun sa everyday life. Sobrang thankful ako na nakakuha ako ng championship— kahit isa lang — sa UAAP."
