PATRICK Tchuente will be the rock down low for Far Eastern University this UAAP Season 82.
The Cameroonian big man got the nod as the Tamaraws released their 16-man roster days away from the opening of the men's basketball tournament.
Tchuente has already suited up for FEU in its preseason stints, including in the 2019 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup and in the 2019 Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup.
Injuries, however, have slowed down the 6-foot-10 center during those summer tournaments.
Sources close to the situation bared that the UAAP Board of Trustees thumbed down the school's earlier plans of fielding Nigerian bruiser Emman Ojoula through the "Troy Rike rule," paving the way for Tchuente's inclusion to the opening day roster.
Tchuente will be tasked to man the paint for the Tamaraws following the graduation of Prince Orizu, who led the team to four straight Final Four appearances and a championship in 2015.
Coach Olsen Racela will also have Barkley Ebona, Brandrey Bienes and Daniel Celzo in his frontcourt.
