BRENT Paraiso is seeing action for University of Sto. Tomas in a preseason tournament, three months after taking a leave from the La Salle Green Archers.
Paraiso had 17 points, two rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block for the Growling Tigers in a 93-87 loss to Jose Rizal University in the UCBL Summer Tournament, a preseason competition held by the Universities and Colleges Basketball League and also featuring teams from the UAAP and NCAA.
Paraiso shot 7 of 13 from the field, including 3 of 5 from three-point range.
Former Mapua juniors standout Sherwin Concepcion had 38 points and 10 rebounds for UST.
Together with brothers Ricci and Prince Rivero, Paraiso took a leave of absence from the Archers reportedly to fulfill their obligations with corporate sponsors.
Paraiso joins UST head coach Aldin Ayo, who moved from La Salle early this year.
Rivero, a Gilas cadet, is also rumored to be set to reunite with Ayo at UST.
