UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas coach Boy Sablan said the Tigers lacked determination and weren't up to the task against National University.
"Tamad nung first half na naman. May tendency kasi na ganoon eh, tinatamad," said Sablan.
"First quarter pa lang, first half pa lang, nagpabaya na agad eh. Parang ayaw gawin, ayaw magsipag," Sablan added.
The Growling Tigers fell behind by 17 points in the first half.
Compounding to UST’s woes were their missed shots from the free throw line and from three-point range.
The Growling Tigers were down by as many as 20 in the fourth but managed to cut the deficit to single digit with less than two minutes to play.
"Yung tira namin hindi namin nashu-shoot. That's the main problem," Sablan said.
"In fact 0-of-14 dun sa three points and we made eleven mistakes on those free throws. Pagkakamali talaga yun, eleven missed free throws."
