THE UAAP is set to move the juniors basketball competitions of the league to the second semester.
A source who refused to be named told Spin.ph the UAAP board has agreed in principle to the move, which would allow high school players to take the spotlight in the second semester without having to compete with college stars whose own tournament begins in July.
The move, proposed by Far Eastern University, will also free up youth players for international basketball tournaments which are usually held between June to September.
For one, the Fiba Under-17 World Championship where the Philippines had qualified will be held August 8 to 16 in Dubai.
