BEN Mbala has no issue with Aldin Ayo changing addresses from Taft to Espana.
"Who am I to judge him to take a side on what he decided to do? That's his own career, that's his own path, and you got to do what makes you happy," Mbala said when asked about his former coach's move from La Salle to University of Santo Tomas.
Mbala, who won a UAAP championship with Ayo at La Salle, wishes the Sorsogon-born coach all the best in his spell with the Growling Tigers.
"If he's happy with his new team, so be it," he said. "I'm happy for him and may God bless him in whatever he's planning to do for the rest of his career."
Mbala can relate to Ayo's decision, having made the decision to leave La Salle last year to turn pro. Since then, the Cameroonian big man has seen action fr Fuerza Regia de Monterrey in Mexico, Chorale Roanne in France, and now, with Seoul Samsung Thunders in the Korean Basketball League.
The 23-year-old said he has no regrets with where he took his career and knows that he's just getting started with his journey as a professional.
"I'll say it's a process getting to my second year as a pro," said Mbala, who will join the Thunders in the Asia League Terrific 12 2018 in Macau. "There's still so many things to do and I'm just blessed to play with great guys. I just always wanna learn from anyone and anywhere."
