BEN Mbala of La Salle has won his second consecutive UAAP Most Valuable Player award.

The Cameroon national team member was the runaway winner of the trophy for Season 80 after amassing 96.5833 total statistical points, according to an official report by UAAP statistics provider Imperium Technology.

The La Salle standout won over Thirdy Ravena of Ateneo, who finished with 66.5 SPs.

      The Cameroonian standout, who missed the first two games of the season after playing for his national team in the Fiba Afrobasket, averaged 26.0 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.5 blocks for La Salle in the elimination round.

      Mbala recorded a career-high 39 points on October 4 against University of the East.

      Already a dominating force in the paint, the 6-foot-8 Mbala also has improved his three-point shooting, making nine of his 31 attempts.

      With Mbala leading the way, La Salle finished second in the elimination round with a 12-2 record (win-loss) after ending rival Ateneo's bid for a sweep.
