    Ballesteros chalks up win as UST Tigers begin life without Coach Pido

    Estong Ballesteros called the shots for the UST Tigers after Pido Jarencio's move to the pros.

    KIM Lo had 22 points, while Ed Daquioag added 21 as University of Santo Tomas beat College of Saint Benilde, 84-74, in the 10th Fr. Martin Collegiate Open Cup over the weekend at the Far Eastern University gym.

    The Tigers, now coached by Estong Ballesteros after Pido Jarencio signed with Globalport in the PBA, won for the second time in three outings in Group B play.

    Meanwhile, Earl Thompson finished with 17 points to lift University of Perpetual Help-A to its third win in as many outings in Group B with a 74-63 victory over San Sebastian College-A.

    Aziz Mbomiko had 22 points to lead Lyceum-A to an 83-77 win over University of the Philippines for a 4-1 record in Group B.
