JARED Bahay is willing to toughen it out just to help Ateneo residcover its winning ways in UAAP Season 88.
“Of course, I’ll be very happy to help the team every time,” he testified, after their fourth loss in a row on the heels of a 4-0 start to the season.
Nursing a bum shoulder, the sophomore guard showed great courage and returned to action on Wednesday in the Blue Eagles’ 75-68 loss to Far Eastern University.

Though his appearance was unexpected, Bahay made it clear that he’s in it to win it for the Katipunan side even if he’s still on the road to recovery.
“Ok naman. I’m probably around 80-percent full health naman, but the doctors said two weeks [recovery],” he said.
Bahay checked in at the 7:37 mark of the second quarter and logged 16 minutes of play, finishing with three points and one assist, but his noble efforts could not halt Ateneo’s four-game skid to go down to an even 4-4 card.
Ateneo's One Big Fight
Tough as this stretch may have been for the Katipunan dribblers, the Cebuano playmaker insisted that all hope isn’t lost yet.
“Di pa tapos. We still have six more games. so we just need to stick together,” he said.
And the key to doing so? Going back to the unselfish basketball that made the Blue Eagles successful in their first four games.
“What we talked about is we need to just translate from I to we. Medyo may times na nagkakanya-kanya din on our desire to help the team,” he said. “So for us, we just have to stay positive.”
