ATENEO has reached out to Ricci Rivero, while University of Santo Tomas is also interested in acquiring his services, according to sources.
Top Eagles officials are making the arrangements to discuss transfer plans having known Rivero’s situation at La Salle before news broke out on Friday, the source added.
UST is also looking to tap Rivero, which would reunite the talented guard with the former La Salle coach who has taken the job as chief of the Tigers basketball program.
It is likely Prince's transfer will be included in the discussions, according to the source.
If he transfers, Rivero will need to undergo residency in Season 81 before becoming eligible in 2019.
Rivero is getting interest after La Salle, sources said, dropped him along with his brother Prince and Brent Paraiso.
According to an official statement by La Salle, the Riveros and Paraiso took a leave from the team to fulfill contractual obligations. The school recently imposed a rule that bars players from signing such contracts.
La Salle also said the three players are still enrolled in the school.
Cameroonian import Ben Mbala, a two-time MVP, left the squad after Season 80.
