IF Ryan Buenafe got under the skin of some De La Salle players during his time with Ateneo, Almond Vosotros was his counterpart from Taft Avenue.
Blue Eagles Von Pessumal and Juami Tiongson admitted Vosotros was the Archer they despised the most owing to his antics and clutch shooting during Ateneo-La Salle games in the UAAP.
“Ang angas, e,” recalled Tiongson, the Columbian Dyip point guard, with a laugh in the latest Kamustahan episode of the PBA.
“During that time, naiinis ako kasi yung fame niya, hindi siya talaga mukhang basketball player, di ba. Sobrang clutch shooter niya,” shared a smiling Pessumal.

The 30-year-old Vosotros, now playing for TnT Katropa, earned a reputation as a clutch player during his five-year stay with the Green Archers.
He is best remembered for delivering the pressure-packed jumper in overtime of La Salle’s 71-69 victory over University of Santo Tomas in the deciding Game 3 of the finals to win the 2013 UAAP men’s basketball championship.
The victory ended a six-year title drought for the Green Archers.

Vosotros’ late-game heroics were not lost on both Pessumal and Tiongson.
“If it is fourth quarter na or big shots, he’s gonna make it, e,” said Pessumal, the shooting guard of San Miguel. “Yung pagka-angas niya after, nakakainis, e.”
Those words were not personal, of course, as Tiongson and Pessumal would later learn. Vosotros became teammate with Tiongson at Blackwater, while he and Pessumal teamed up at Batang Gilas.

“Naging kampi ko siya sa Blackwater. Sobrang bait pala, maloko lang,” Tiongson with a chuckle. “Same character sila ni Ryan (Buenafe) on the court.
“Pero nung nakasama ko si Almond off the court, sobrang bait naman. Nag-click naman (kami).”
Pessumal shared the same experience.
“Naging teammate ko siya sa Batang Gilas and naging close kami later,” he said. “Nakakatawa na lang siya looking back.”
