FAR Eastern University bounced back in from an atrocious outing as it nipped National University, 73-68, in the UAAP Season 81 on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Coming off a 90-65 loss at the hands of the UE Red Warriors, the Tamaraws came away with the necessary plays in the end game to eke out the win and get a share of third place with the La Salle Green Archers at 3-2.

With the Bulldogs hot on their tails, Wendell Comboy and Kenneth Tuffin scored five straight points to give the Tamaraws a 71-63 lead with 1:07 to go.

Arvin Tolentino then drained the marginal free throws to formalize the win and send the Bulldogs to their fourth straight defeat after an opening-day win.

“Of course you’re always happy with a bounce back victory, the problem is after the victory. Ang sama namin magrespond sa victory. More than bouncing back, kailangan namin gawin is to be consistent with our approach everyday,” said FEU head coach Olsen Racela.
