ANDREI Caracut would have wanted his farewell game for La Salle to end in a high-stakes setting, but he's happy to bow out on a winning note.
"Hindi ko in-expect na ganoon yung ilalaro namin kasi galing din sa talo," said the 5-foot-11 playmaker after the Green Archers ended their campaign in UAAP Season 82 with an 89-63 win over Adamson on Wednesday.
La Salle entered the game still reeling from a bitter 71-68 defeat to University of the Philippines last Sunday that kept it out of the Final Four for the second consecutive season.
And it's all the more painful for Caracut, who went scoreless in 21 minutes in that game.
But the Green Archers' team captain atoned in the conquest of the Soaring Falcons as the 23-year-old came away with 14 points, six assists, and three rebounds.
"Nakita ko na ang ganda ng nilaro namin sa offense and sa defense. Yun yung nagpapanalo sa amin," he said after La Salle finished the season with an even 7-7 win-loss record.
Caracut's plans for his final season may have not panned out the way he planned it, but he'll forever be grateful in calling La Sale his second home.
That's why wherever his basketball career may take him, he vowed to still finish his studies.
"Hindi pa rin ako tapos sa La Salle, may 30 units pa ako. Yun yung goal ko, yung pag aaral ko," he said.
