ALVIN Pasaol did pretty much everything for University of the East and still it wasn’t enough as the Red Warriors dropped their second consecutive game in the UAAP Season 81.
Pasaol scored 36 points, grabbed 11 boards, added two assists and a block in the Red Warriors’ 76-90 loss to the Adamson Falcons on Wednesday.
The burly forward took half of the entire team’s total shot output, taking 33 of their 66 attempts. He was also responsible for 14 of their 28 made shots while no other player had more than six shots on the team.
“Kailangan ko sila, kailangan din nila ako, kailangan namin magtulungan sa kailangan namin gawin. Box out, rebound, hustle, kailangan namin yun e, and kailangan din namin sila,” said Pasaol.
“Yes kailangan more aggressive din sila. Parang give and take sa lahat ng bagay. Kailangan din namin ipush pa sila,” he added.
Pasaol urges his squad to be even more assertive on the offensive end, saying it will be harder to get that breakthrough win if his teammates continue to be unmotivcated.
“Di matuturo yung heart e, yung maglaro ng basketball. Kailangan inspired basketball. Kailangan mo puso, hindi pwedeng pagpunta mo ng court hindi pwedeng walang gagawin,” said Pasaol.
“Kailangan yung eagerness, na mailabas yung tunay na laro. We can’t teach heart, kailangan mong desire na manalo, dumepensa, yun ang kulang e,” he added.
But Pasaol insists that he’s far from being frustrated as he’s enjoying every moment that he’s spending with his teammates – no matter the results.
“Di naman naffrustrate. Nakikita ko naman yung teammate ko na masaya sila e. Even though natatalo kami atleast masaya kami, tinutulungan ko sila, tinutulungan nila ako. Di ako naffrustrate.”
