UNIVERSITY of the East and La Salle scored big opening game wins in the UAAP Season 80 3x3 men’s basketball tournament on Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.
Alvin Pasaol buried the game-winning two-pointer as the Red Warriors defeated Adamson, 18-16.
Aljun Melecio and company led the Green Archers to a 10-9 win over Ateneo.
Pasaol teamed up with Philip Manalang, Mark Maloles, and Jason Varilla.
Melecio was joined by Andrei Caracut, Santi Santillan, and Justin Baltazar.
In the women’s division, National University beat Far Eastern University, 15-9, while University of Santo Tomas won over University of the Philippines, 14-13.
La Salle beat Ateneo, 11-9, while Adamson defeated UE, 16-8.
