ALVIN Pasaol will play out his last year in University of the East.
The Red Warriors' super scorer has finally made the decision to give the Recto side one more run in next year's UAAP Season 82.
"Magse-stay ako sa UE," he said, shelving his plans to make the jump to the pros.
Pasaol has been long considering to enter the upcoming 2018 PBA Rookie Draft after what has been a promising run in UE.
He earned Mythical Team selections in back-to-back years, and became the highest scoring average for a local since 2003 with his 24.4 points per game this Season 81.
Pasaol also grabbed 11.0 rebounds, 1.9 steals, 1.0 assists, but though his numbers were gaudy, those were not able to translate into success as UE stumbled to a 1-13 record, the school's worst performance ever.
Asked why he opted to return, the 23-year-old explained, "Nag-decide ako sa sarili ko lang. Naisip ko na gusto ko pa maglaro para sa UE."
Pasaol's return is a welcome boost for the Red Warriors, as coach Joe Silva expects a better performance next year.
UE is set to parade 6-foot-9 Senegalese Adama Diakhite up front, as well as the arrivals of former Letran Squire Niel Tolentino and Ateneo transferee John Apacible.
