FAR Eastern University thanked Veejay Pre for his contributions to the school in the aftermath of the star forward's sudden departure.
In a brief statement on Wednesday, the school described Pre as "a true student-athlete and a champion," citing the three juniors crowns he helped bring to FEU-Diliman and said that he "exemplified what it means to wear green and gold."
Pre officially bid his alma mater goodbye early Wednesday saying "there comes a time in our lives when challenges arise, pushing us to make difficult decisions."

The UAAP Season 87 Rookie of the Year has been subject of poaching rumors for months now, one which has even led to a family tug-of-war.
But it seems like the parents' call prevailed, with Pre stating:
"I’ve chosen to heed their wisdom and concerns. This made me realize how much they only want the best for me and I can’t deny that taking this big step forward has been the hardest decision ever."
He was initially listed in FEU's 20-man roster for the PlayTime Cares 18th Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup presented by ABC Tile Adhesive, but that would not come to be in the advent of the news.
Spin.ph tried to reach out to Tamaraws head coach Sean Chambers for comments but he has yet to respond to our queries.
