GOLD medal: present!
La Salle definitely had the last laugh and Jacob Cortez made sure everyone knew about it.

Celebrating the Green Archers' triumph in the UAAP Season 88 men's basketball tournament, the fearless guard posted an Instagram story of the team wearing their medals inside the bus.
"Attendance check muna!," he captioned, as the rest of the team gamely responded, "Present!"

And that was very much true not only en route to their championship celebration back in campus, but throughout the finals where coach Topex Robinson got contributions from up and down his roster.
From Cortez' clutch makes to Kean Baclaan and Mason Amos' courageous returns from injury, from Vhoris Marasigan's effort to Luis Pablo's energy, and of course, Mike Phillips delivering a 'Giannis Game' when it mattered most, total team effort was very much effort for the green-and-white.
Attendance check
All that may very well be in response to former University of the Philippines standout Zavier Lucero stating before the championship series that La Salle is just "showing up for attendance."
Unfortunately, Lucero is with Magnolia in Bahrain and was absent for the winner-take-all Game Three which ended up in an 80-72 victory for the Taft side.
And in the end, the Green Archers gained the upper hand against their new-age rival Fighting Maroons in this modern-day trilogy.
