ALJUN Melecio scored 41 points De La Salle-Zobel gained solo second place with a 78-58 victory over Far Eastern University-Diliman on Saturday in the UAAP Season 78 juniors basketball at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Melecio went 14 for 29 from the field, including seven triples, and also had 10 rebounds to lift the Junior Archers, finishing just a point short of matching the season high 42 he notched against Ateneo on opening day.
The Junior Archers scored their sixth win in eight games, gaining solo second with Ateneo’s loss to National University earlier in the day. De La Salle-Zobel is two games behind unbeaten NU (8-0).
Meanwhile, Adamson defeated University of the Philippines Integrated School, 66-61, to gain a share of third spot with a 5-3 win-loss card.
Jayson Celis had 11 points while Jose Antiporda added 10 for the Baby Falcons, who matched Ateneo at 5-3 while FEU dropped to fifth at 4-4.
