Aldin Ayo tells Varsitarian he's signed to coach UST Tigers 'for next six years'

Aldin Ayo's appointment as UST coach is set to be made official on Jan. 11. Marlo Cueto

MULTI-TITLED college coach Aldin Ayo has switched schools three times over the past four years.

Looks like he plans to stay in one place in the foreseeable future.

According to a tweet by University of Santo Tomas' school paper The Varsitarian, Ayo bared he has committed to coach the UST Tigers in the UAAP 'for the next six years.'

That should be quite a commitment for Ayo, who left alma mater Letran after just one championship season in the NCAA to coach La Salle for two years before making the move to UST just last month.

Ayo's move to the UST camp will be made official with an announcement by the school's Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) on January 11, according to The Varsitarian.

On Tuesday, Ayo, who led La Salle to two finals appearances and a championship in the UAAP, broke his silence by saying 'differences' in the handling of the Green Archers prompted his departure.

La Salle has also moved on, announcing on Wednesday that it has appointed Ayo's former assistant, Louie Gonzalez, to the head-coaching job with Glenn Capacio his chief assistant.
