ALDIN Ayo finally broke his silence with regard to his surprising departure from De La Salle for a coaching stint with University of Santo Tomas.
In a tweet posted on his account @AyoAV_official late Tuesday, the enigmatic mentor explained that his departure from the Green Archers camp was prompted by 'differences' on how the team should be handled.
Ayo later confirmed to SPIN.ph that he owns the Twitter account.
"We have different views in handling the team. I've always done what is necessary," said Ayo.
The champion coach likewise explained the reasons behind the 'media blackout' over the move, saying he's merely keeping his word not to make any disclosures until the turn of the new year.
"The reason why I kept mum is because of an agreement not to disclose any information before the 1st week of January or until the school makes its official statement.I am only breaking my silence since the news has come out earlier than expected and only after getting permission," Ayo continued.
"Much grattitude to Boss ECJ, the Managers, School heads, the de La Salle community, all of the Green Archers fans. The two years I have spent with the Archers are two well-spent years indeed."
UST has yet to make an official announcement about Ayo's move, but sources say that an announcement is expected to be made within the first two weeks of the year.
Ayo's longtime deputy in Luis Gonzalez was slated to take over his post as head of the Green Archers.
