DIVINE Adili understands that he has such big shoes to fill, as the man in the middle for Ateneo.
Yet even before he plays his first game for the Blue Eagles, he has made sure to equip himself with the right wisdom from those who walked this path in the past.

The 20-year-old Nigerian center shared that he has constantly sought advice from past foreign student-athletes, namely Ange Kouame, Joseph Obasa, and Victor Balogun, as he braces for his freshman year this UAAP Season 88.

“I just try to keep in contact with those guys and get advice because going to the season, I don’t have the experience yet,” he told SPIN.ph.
Dominance from NAASCU to UAAP
Though Adili has already shown what he could do after winning back-to-back NAASCU Juniors MVP honors for New Era University, he knows that being in the UAAP is a different beast althogether.
That’s why rather than pressuring himself to make the instant impact that people expect from him, he knows better to trust the process and grow with the rest of his Ateneo peers.
“I would say it’s been good. We’re making a lot of progress and we just want to keep on improving day-by-day, game-by-game,” said the 6-foot-10 big.
But make no mistake about it: there’s nothing more that fuels Adili than chasing for the grandest prize out there.
“I would like to win the championship,” he stated. “I think they should expect me to go all out every game, play with a lot of heart and pride for the jersey I wear, and make Ateneo proud.”
