JERRICK Ahanmisi finally broke out of his shell and delivered Adamson's 91-80 victory over University of the East Wednesday in the UAAP Season 82 men's basketball tournament at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Fil-Nigerian sniper exploded for 28 points on a blazing 7-of-14 clip from downtown and help the Soaring Falcons gain back-to-back wins to rise to a 2-1 card.

Adamson, however, needed to fend off UE late as it saw its 15-point lead, 74-59, dwindle down to as low as seven, 82-75, with three minutes to play before the quartet of Ahanmisi, Valandre Chauca, Jerom Lastimosa, and Lenda Douanga delivered daggers in the clutch.

Lastimosa added 16 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, while Chauca shot 2-of-6 from threes to notch 13 points, four dimes, and two boards.

Congolese big man Lenda Douanga tallied a double-double with his 11 points, 16 rebounds, an assist, and a block in the conquest.

Adamson coach Franz Pumaren, however, admitted that his side's woes three games into the season.

"This is our third game, but we're really struggling chemistry-wise. Even if we won our second straight for that matter, we’re still trying to figure out the right combinations," said the four-time UAAP champion.

UE played without Senegalese big man Alex Diakhite, who remains hospitalized as he's suspected to have incurred dengue.

Rey Suerte paced the winless Red Warriors (0-3) with 20 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals, while Jed Mendoza had his best game to date in red-and-white with 17 points, four assists, and three boards in the loss.
