ADAMSON eyes back-to-back wins when it takes on La Salle Saturday in the UAAP Season 82 men's basketball tournament at Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The Soaring Falcons are coming off a huge 78-71 stunner over University of Santo Tomas last Wednesday, and coach Franz Pumaren would like to keep this streak going with Jerrick Ahanmisi and Valandre Chauca now establishing themselves as a deadly 1-2 combo for the San Marcelino dribblers.
"Hopefully, we can sustain the run. It's been a killer schedule for us," he said.
Game time is at 4 p.m., with Adamson gunning to rise from its 3-2 win-loss card.
On the other hand, frustrations are mounting on the La Salle side, especially after they dropped to 1-3 in the standings.
But for active consultant Jermaine Byrd, this is no time to push the panic button as he has no other recourse but to pivot the Green Archers back to their winning ways behind Justine Baltazar, Aljun Melecio, and one-and-done Jamie Malonzo.
"We're in for another battle," he said after his side's 66-55 loss to FEU. "We're just not winning, but the season is not over. So we just got to keep chipping away, we got to keep fighting, and we got to keep believing in each other and it'll turn around."
In the first game, University of the Philippines (3-1) seeks its third straight win when it battles the always dangerous University of the East (1-3) at 2 p.m.
The Fighting Maroons are fresh from a tight 80-79 escape from NU, and coach Bo Perasol will bank on Kobe Paras, Bright Akhuetie, and Javi Gomez de Liano to get the job done.
Meanwhile, the Red Warriors are still riding high from their 89-88 upset win over La Salle last week, and high-scoring Rey Suerte will surely be a marked man in this clash.
