ADAMSON added a new weapon to its arsenal in Fil-Italian guard Roger Syvels delos Reyes.
Coach Franz Pumaren confirmed that the Falcons have gained the commitment of the 5-foot-11 shooter who he said was already playing for a club team since he was 12.
"He is not an ordinary high school graduate because of his vast experience playing for his club team as early as 12 years old," said the decorated mentor of his newest recruit.
Pumaren himself flew to Milan last December to recruit Delos Reyes for Adamson.
The 21-year-old last suited up for Basketown Milano in Serie C Silver in Italy. He also donned the colors of POL SDM from 2012 to 2014, and Milano3 from 2014 to 2020 in the age-group competitions.
What makes Delos Reyes stand out for Pumaren was his willingness to mix it up in a highly physical game even if he was one of the smallest players on the court.
"He's a tough kid and he's comfortable playing physical. That's typical in the European style of basketball," he said.
Delos Reyes can suit up for the Soaring Falcons come UAAP Season 83. He will have three more seasons of eligibility for the school after that.
Adamson is intent on bouncing back after its forgettable 4-10 campaign in UAAP Season 82 - good for sixth place.
The Falcons earlier secured the commitments of Ateneo juniors team captain Joaquin Jaymalin, and transferees Jhon Calisay and RV Yanes from Technological Institute of the Philippines.
Jerrick Ahanmisi is expected to carry the load for Adamson next season, with incoming sophomores Joem Sabandal and AP Manlapaz also poised to step up.
