ADAMSON'S homegrown rookie Joem Sabandal will miss the remainder of the first round of the UAAP Season 82 men's basketball tournament after suffering a fractured left hand.
The 5-foot-11 guard suffered the injury during the Soaring Falcons' training last Friday and sat out the Soaring Falcons' pulsating 84-83 overtime victory over National University on Saturday.
It's a tough development for the former Baby Falcon who was part of the Mythical Team in the juniors division last season after averaging 14.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.7 steals.
Sabandal contributed two rebounds in just four minutes of play in his seniors debut in Adamson's 70-52 opening-day loss to Ateneo.
Sabandal vowed to come back stronger come the second round.
"I’ll do my best to bounce back for the second round since di naging maganda yung mga nangyayari sa akin sa season na ito," he said, also ruing the shoulder injury that took him out for two months of the team's preseason preparations.
"Lahat yan plano ni Lord so I’ll trust His plans lang. And I’ll be ready sa second round to help my teammates na makabawi from last years painful loss sa Final Four."
