ADAMSON already has games scheduled against teams in China and coach Franz Pumaren is still looking to hold tuneup games in Korea or Taipei as part of the Falcons’ preparations for UAAP Season 79.
The Falcons, who are already seeing action in the Filoil preseason tournament, will train in China in June and Pumaren is looking to maximize the time before the UAAP tournament opens in September.
“We have a lineup of games already come June. We are looking at playing against some Chinese teams. Probably, we will be playing in at least four to six games,” said Pumaren.
“If time permits us, we will go to Korea or Taipei,” he added.
Pumaren made his national television debut as Adamson coach on Saturday when the Falcons lost to La Salle, 88-98, in the Filoil preseason tournament. Pumaren steered La Salle to five UAAP basketball titles before coaching in the PBA.
Now Pumaren looks to instill the winning mentality at Adamson, which has struggled in the UAAP for years.
“I’m here to change the culture of Adamson. There is a tendency for them to be happy competing. Puwede na. Boundary na. No. Hopefully, the landscape here in Adamson will be completely different come the UAAP,” said Pumaren.
