AFTER nailing its second straight win, Adamson now focuses on containing Paul Desiderio as the Falcons face another tough opponent in a University of the Philippines team raring to bounce back in the UAAP Season 80 seniors basketball tournament.

The Falcons will play the second game of a three-game swing that will see them playing in three straight playdates that began Sunday when they beat University of the East, 79-60.

The next game won't be an easy one as the Falcons take on Desiderio and the rest of the Fighting Maroons squad coming off a loss on Sunday.

"If you look at UP right now, I think the bulk of their scoring comes from Desiderio," said Adamson coach Franz Pumaren.

Pumaren said one of the focal points of Adamson in beating UP is to contain Desiderio, who despite scoring only eight points in Sunday's defeat against Far Eastern University is still averaging 18.6 points per outing but now third behind top scorer Ben Mbala (31.7) and J-Jay Alejandro (18.8).

Pumaren hopes Adamson will do the same as FEU in its defense against Desiderio.

"They struggled because FEU made it difficult on his part to get those points. I guess we will just try to slow him down. You cannot stop him because he gets the ball most of the time. You just have to try and slow him down," said Pumaren.

Pumaren is confident the tough schedule will not break his team come the last stretch of the first round of the elimination.

"I mentioned it to the players since last week. That is why we practiced hard because we know for sure we will have this kind of schedule. We just have to make the most out of it," said Pumaren.

"I guess that's part and parcel of playing in the UAAP," said Pumaren.
