ADAMSON finally won after six straight losses, defeating University of the Philippines, 67-53, on Saturday in the UAAP Season 76 men’s basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Falcons, which had last won July 20 against National University in the first round, improved its win-loss record to 4-8, keeping alive its chances for a spot in the semifinals.
“Today’s win is a sigh of relief,” said Adamson coach Leo Austria. “Because everybody is trying to down us especially the coach and my ability. But we have to finish the season with pride and I’m happy to see this team winning again.”

Ingrid Sewa and Rodney Brondial punctuated their domination in the paint for the win. Sewa had 18 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocks, while Brondial had 17 boards despite failing to score in the game.
