THE nightmare continues for University of the East, as Adamson added to the Red Warriors’ misery, stretching their losing streak to 26 straight games courtesy of a 71-64 decision in the UAAP Season 89 men’s basketball tournament on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Soaring Falcons leaned on their hot shooting from deep, with Ray Allen Torres, Matty Erolon, Mathew Montebon, and Earl Medina firing two triples each to build a commanding 54-32 lead at half.
What looked to be a one-sided affair turned into a fightback for UE, which limited Adamson to just three points in the third quarter to cut the deficit to eight and get back within striking distance.
However, Nash Racela and Co. refused to fall victim to the red-and-white rally, mounting just enough of a response in the final frame to take back control en route to a bounce back win
