THE NU Bulldogs remain the only undefeated team in the UAAP Season 81 juniors basketball tournament, sporting a perfect 4-0 record, with graduating guard Terrence Fortea showing the way.
The ever-reliable scorer put up 23 points in a 50-point romp over the UPIS Junior Maroons. He found his stroke from beyond the arc, knocking down six 3-pointers in the lopsided contest.
Fortea’s shooting display earned him the No. 1 spot in Week 4 of the Chooks-to-Go NBTC UAAP 24 weekly rankings.
UST’s Mark Nonoy came in at second after a 25-point performance in the Tiger Cubs’ 70-60 win against the UE Junior Warriors. Nonoy also contributed four rebounds, three assists and two assists.
Last week’s No. 1 RJ Abarrientos also had a strong outing as the FEU Baby Tamaraws notched their third win in four games. Abarrientos scored 16 points and dished out eight assists to settle for third in the rankings.
Rounding out the top five are Ateneo’s Kai Sotto and NU guard Gerry Abadiano. The Blue Eaglets’ towering center tallied11 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three blocks in a victory over the DLSZ Junior Archers while Abadiano put up 14 points, five dimes and two steals.
Completing the top ten are NU’s Kevin Quiambao, FEU’s Royce Alforque, NU’s Carl Tamayo, UST’s Bismarck Lina and Joem Sabandal of Adamson.

This year, there will be three separate editions of the NBTC 24 – one for the NCAA, one for the UAAP, and one for the CESAFI – to accommodate the Juniors calendar for the whole year.
After all three editions have been completed, a final list composing the top 24 players nationwide will then be chosen to participate in the annual NBTC All-Star Game in March.
