MARK Nonoy hardly broke a sweat in steering University of Santo Tomas' season-ending, 85-64, conquest over De La Salle-Zobel to wrap up its UAAP Season 81 juniors' basketball campaign Sunday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The dynamic guard only needed to play in the first and third quarters as he pumped 16 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and a block to help the Tiger Cubs nab back-to-back wins.
Nonoy triggered the killer 13-0 tear for UST in the first quarter as it turned a close 14-12 lead to a commanding 27-12 advantage near the end of the period.
The Tiger Cubs further extended the lead to 28, 55-27, to start the second half as they cruised to the victory.
"We always wanted to end the season on a winning note especially sa mga seniors natin," said coach Bonnie Garcia as he gave Nonoy and 10 others a fitting end to their high school career.
Jomar Amador chipped in 15 points and six rebounds, as Gian Benzonan and Johnvic Casingcasing both had nine points for UST, which evened its standing to 7-7 for fifth spot.
Henrie Subido paced the Junior Archers with 14 points and two rebounds, as Nat Sevilla registered 13 points, 15 boards, five assists and two steals.
DLSZ ended its campaign at sixth place with its 4-10 win-loss record after absorbing its fourth straight defeat.
