    Mark Nonoy posts third triple-double as UST Tiger Cubs rip UPIS to solidify semis bid

    UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas and De La Salle Zobel kept themselves in the running for a Final Four spot in the UAAP Season 81 juniors' basketball tournament, dispatching separate foes Sunday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

    Tiger Cubs wunderkind Mark Nonoy showed the way anew for his side, registering his third triple-double of the season in their 80-65 win over University of the Philippines Integrated School.

    The Negrense guard uncorked 30 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists as UST pulled itself to an even 5-5 slate.

    Bismarck Lina added support with his 21 points and 16 rebounds, while Jomar Amador came off the bench and contributed 15 points, six boards, and four assists.

    Allen Torres led the Junior Maroons with 20 points and two rebounds, while Jacob Estrera had 16 and six in the loss.

    Raven Cortez, meanwhile, towed the Junior Archers to a slim 70-66 victory over University of the East to rise to 4-6 and snap a four-game losing skid.

    The Batang Gilas stalwart was all over the floor for DLSZ with his 16 points, 19 rebounds, five assists, four steals, and four blocks to keep his team in the playoff race.

    Ivan Cudiamat added 15 points, five rebounds, and three assists in the win, as Jac Macasaet had 12 points and four boards.

    Mike Flores paced the Junior Warriors with 16 points and five rebounds off the bench.

    UPIS and UE remained at the cellar with their identical 1-9 slates.
