OVERSEAS training will have to wait as Francis "Lebron" Lopez has decided to stay in Ateneo for the meantime.
School insiders confirmed that the 16-year-old has enrolled this semester and has started to attend his online classes. Part of it was Lopez' desire to finish his studies and achieve academic honors at Ateneo.

The 6-foot-5 Lopez was headed to the US to train with NBA G League-bound Kai Sotto, Hawaii-based center Sage Tolentino, and Far Eastern University commit Cholo Anonuevo under the watch of East West Private in Cincinnati, Ohio back in August.
Those plans, however, will have to be shelved for the meantime for the incoming Grade 10 student.
Lopez still has two years remaining in his high school career and was coming off a stellar run for the Blue Eaglets this past UAAP Season 82, where he posted 16.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks to make it to the Mythical Team.
With Lopez joining forces with Forthsky Padrigao and Josh Lazaro, Ateneo made it to the stepladder semis but bowed out of the playoffs after a loss to Adamson.
The Fil-Angolan high-flyer suited up for La Salle Greenhills before transferring to Katipunan.
