THREE Ateneo players led by Kai Sotto joined Most Valuable Player CJ Cansino in the Mythical Five of the UAAP Season 80 juniors basketball tournament.
Sotto finished second in the MVP race to Cansino. They received their trophies before Game Two of the finals series between Ateneo and National University.
Cansino had 88.4286 statistical points while Sotto was a far second at 70.2143 SPs following the end of the elimination round, according to league statistics provider Imperium Technology.
Also part of the Mythical Five are Sotto’s teammates SJ Belangel and Dave Ildefonso, who were also instrumental in the Blue Eaglets’ sweep of the elimination round.
Belangel was third in the MVP race with 68.8571 SPs, while Ildefonso placed fifth with 64.2143 SPs.
Far Eastern University star LJay Gonzales, last year’s finals MVP, placed fourth in the MVP race with 65.7143 SPs.
