    FEU-Diliman, Adamson boost bid for places in UAAP Final Four

    FINAL Four-seeking Far Eastern University-Diliman and Adamson returned to their winning ways on Wednesday in the UAAP Season 81 juniors' basketball tournament at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

    The Baby Tamaraws hardly broke a sweat in their 99-82 rout of University of the East as Xyrus Torres went 6-of-10 from downtown to finish with 24 points, three rebounds, two steals, and an assist. Bryan Sajonia added 22 points and four boards off the bench.

    With the substitutes clicking, RJ Abarrientos didn't have to do much of the heavy lifting, yet still wound up with 15 points, seven rebounds, and two assists in FEU-Diliman's eighth win in 11 games - good for third place.

    UE suffered its fourth straight defeat to fall to 1-10.

    Shane Dichoso shouldered the load for the Junior Warriors with 31 points, nine rebounds, and five assists, while Jessie Sullano got a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds in the losing cause.

    Adamson, meanwhile, survived a late rally from University of Santo Tomas to escape with a 69-67 squeaker.

    Joem Sabandal captained the Baby Falcons with 22 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, four steals, and a block to rise to 7-4.

    Lorenz Capulong added 10 points and seven boards, while Adam Doria contributed 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

    Adamson was poised to cruise to the easy win after taking a 59-46 lead in the third quarter, but Mark Nonoy led a spirited rally for UST that fell short of time.

    Nonoy pumped in 26 points to go witheight rebounds, seven steals, and four assists, while Bismarck Lina had 13 points, 11 boards, two dimes, two steals, and a rejection.

    The Tiger Cubs sunk to 5-6.
