    Baby Tamaraws outlast Junior Archers in OT to tighten grip on third place

    FAR Eastern University needed an extra period to beat De La Salle-Zobel, 87-86, on Sunday in the UAAP Season 80 juniors basketball at the Blue Eagle Gym.

    The Baby Tamaraws solidify hold of third place with a 7-5 record, and gain a one-game lead over Adamson and University of Santo Tomas.

    RJ Abarrientos had 27 points, as L-Jay Gonzales tallied 24 points for the Baby Tamaraws, who had to earn the win against the also-ran Junior Archers.

    Shan Vesagas had 23 points, while Raven Cortez had 12 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocks for the Junior Archers, who are at sixth place with University of the Philippines Integrated School.

    Action resumes on Wednesday at the Blue Eagle Gym beginning at 9 a.m. with National University taking on Adamson, Far Eastern University facing UPIS, University of the East going up against Ateneo, and University of Santo Tomas battling De La Salle-Zobel.
