THE Cabs Cabonilas sweepstakes have begun, but collegiate teams who are salivating to recruit the newly-crowned champion will have to wait.
The reigning UAAP juniors MVP said he’ll be taking his time in making his decision as he's set to confer with his family in his hometown of Digos City before deciding which university he'll be playing for come next season.
“Parang hindi ko pa masasagot yan," Cabonilas said shortly after FEU-Diliman's 106-102 win over NU-Nazareth School to hoist the UAAP Season 88 19U title.
"Tingnan ko muna yung pamilya ko. Pero sa ngayon, enjoy muna.”

With the UAAP Season 88 boys basketball tournament officially oveer, the timer for Cabonilas’ decision has officially begun and suitors will definitely come aplenty.
The 6'4 wing exits FEU-Diliman a two-time boys basketball champion and the first ever regular season and finals MVP.
He averaged 15.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.5 blocks enroute to securing the top individual plum of the regular season, before ending his storied high school career with 35 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, three steals and three blocks against the Bullpups.

Not having any shortage of teams who'll want him, Cabonilas knows he has the luxury of time to sit back, savor the fruits of his labor and before making an informed, well-thought out decision for his future.
“Siguro pag balik ko pa galing sa amin, tsaka kami magdedecide," he said.
"Family ko rin naman ang talagang priority ko. Namnamin muna namin itong championship kasi matagal na namin tinrabaho ito.”
