    FEU Baby Tams take control early and ease to victory over UST Tiger Cubs

    FAR Eastern University-Diliman and Adamson ended their first-round assignments on a high, hurdling their foes on Saturday in the UAAP Season 81 juniors' basketball tournament at Blue Eagle Gym.

    The Baby Tamaraws wasted no time dismantling University of Santo Tomas, 63-37, for its fifth win in seven games.

    Bryan Sajonia led the attack for FEU-Diliman with 12 points and five rebounds, while RJ Abarrientos and Royce Alforque got 11 apiece in the victory to improve to 5-2.

    Xyrus Torres' layup capped off a scintillating 14-2 opener for the Baby Tamaraws that put the game beyond reach.

    Bismarck Lina had 11 points and seven rebounds for UST, which dropped to 3-4.

    The Baby Falcons scored a 72-57 rout over De La Salle-Zobel to follow up their huge upset win over NU.

    Adam Manlapaz came off the bench and dropped 18 points and made four rebounds, while Didat Hanapi got 12 points as Adamson improved to 5-2.

    Joem Sabandal and Andrey Doria also got 11 apiece for the Baby Falcons.

    Lance Jomalesa paced the Junior Archers (3-4) with 15 points and seven rebounds.

    Meanwhile, University of the East finally got its first victory, at the expense of felow cellar-dweller University of the Philippines Integrated School, 74-72, in the battle of winless teams.

    Sean Manaug powered the Junior Warriors with 20 points and 15 rebounds as Jesse Sullano had a double-double of 11 points and 13 boards as improved its record to 1-6.

    The loss spoiled Jordi Gomez de Liano's career-best 27-point performance as the Junior Maroons stayed at the bottom of the standings at 0-7.
