ALLAN Albano has bid farewell to Far Eastern University.
The decorated mentor left the Tamaraws lair after a decade of service to his alma mater and now serves as an assistant coach to Olsen Racela in Perpetual.
Albano, in a short message to Spin.ph, expressed his gratitude for the years of service that he has rendered to FEU-Diliman, turning the high school basketball program into one of the consistent powerhouses in the juniors division.
"I am beyond happy and fulfilled. Syempre ibig sabihin nun I did my job well. Sobrang nakakataba ng puso lalo’t for a couple of years na ang core ng seniors team ay galing sa FEU high school program," he said.
Albano was replaced by Denok Miranda at the helm for the Baby Tamaraws team and he has also subsequently departed the staff of coach Sean Chambers in the seniors division, saying his goodbyes in early January while thanking athletic director Mark Molina for the opportunity he was given.
Spin.ph caught wind of the seeming power play earlier this month, one that ultimately became a reality.

Albano took charge for the FEU-Diliman side back in 2015 from Mike Oliver and immediately guided the team to the Final Four in UAAP Season 78.
The season after, behind L-Jay Gonzales, Kenji Roman, Jack Gloria, Xyrus Torres, and RJ Abarrientos coming off the bench, the Baby Tamaraws captured the UAAP Season 79 crown.
He once again helped FEU-Diliman reclaim the throne in UAAP Season 85 in 2023, this time behind Finals MVP Kirby Mongcopa, Janrey Pasaol, Veejay Pre, and Jedric Daa.
Albano also won two womens crowns, guiding the Lady Tamaraws to a perfect 16-0 run in UAAP Season 75 behind MVP Allana Lim and Finals MVP Soc Borja back in 2012.
With his departure, Albano reunites with Racela and another ex-FEU Tamaraw in Patrick Sleat in the Altas camp.
