ADAMSON has formally appealed the UAAP decision to declare Encho Serrano ineligible but leaves its fate to the board of trustees following the end of its elimination round campaign in Season 79.
Adamson coach Goldwin Monteverde said the school submitted a letter of appeal to the UAAP Board last Thursday on its decision to declare Serrano, the leading MVP candidate of the season, ineligible after failing to complete the required documents related to his high school enrollment.
The decision led to the forfeiture of the Baby Falcons' 11 victories in Season 79 where Serrano played.
“We made an appeal to the board,” said Monteverde.
In its final elimination round game of Season 79, the Baby Falcons defeated National University, 70-68, on Saturday to finish with a 2-12 win-loss record.
Time, however, is running out for the Baby Falcons as the Final Four is about to begin in the following weeks.
Monteverde made it clear the school will accept whatever the UAAP decide on their appeal.
“Whatever their decision, we will respect that. We will just pray for wisdom and conscience kapag nagkaroon na ng decision,” said Monteverde.
“Walang sinasabi,” said Monteverde, when asked if when the UAAP will decide on its appeal. “Although sana, at the soonest.”
