TREY Jones came up huge in the fourth-quarter run to lift the Gunma Crane Thunders to a 101-92 victory over the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins on Saturday in the Japan B.League at Ota City Athletic Park Citizen's Gymnasium.
Jones unloaded 24 of his 28 points in the fourth period to lead Gunma to back-to-back wins and rise to a 4-6 record.
His aggressiveness keyed the Crane Thunders' furious 10-4 assault to turn the game from a close 88-86 affair in the last 3:52 to a 98-90 lead with 1:54 remaining.
Jones shot 13-of-17 from the free throw line, while also making seven assists, six rebounds, and three steals.
Aki Chambers had 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting from deep, to go with four boards. Michael Parker poured 16 points and seven rebounds, and Justin Keenan got 15 points, five dimes, and two boards.
Ray Parks struggles from the field.
It was a silent day in the office for Bobby Ray Parks, who shot 3-of-9 from the field and finished with eight points and four rebounds for Nagoya.
Scott Eatherton led the Diamond Dolphins with 23 points, eight boards, two assists, and two steals, as Coty Clarke had 19 points and six boards.
Nagoya dropped to an even 5-5 record and now hopes to earn a split in this road trip in the rematch on Sunday.
