1BATAAN Risers' formidable stand ended in heartbreak, falling to favored Tokyo Dime.exe, 21-17, in the Chooks-to-Go 3x3 Asia Pacific Super Quest Saturday at SM Megamall Fashion Hall in Mandaluyong.
Not even Travis Franklin's 10-point explosion could not save the home squad from dropping to 1-1 in Pool B.
Japan's top 3x3 player Tomoya Ochiai was the biggest thorn on the side of Bataan, bombarding the opposition with nine points as he guided Tokyo to two wins to snare the top spot in the group.
Keita Suzuki added six points built on three two-pointers, as Masahiro Komatsu and Serbian reinforcement Petar Perunovic both had three for the world's 19th ranked 3x3 club.
Both teams will advance to the knockout playoffs on Sunday.
Santi Santillan contributed three points in the losing cause for the Risers, while Alvin Pasaol and Karl Dehesa both had a pair.
The scores:
Tokyo 21 - Ochiai 9, Suzuki 6, Komatsu 3, Perunovic 3.
Bataan 17 - Franklin 10, Santillan 3, Pasaol 2, Dehesa 2.
