WHAT’S next for Thirdy Ravena after his campaign with Gilas Pilipinas in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games?
Ravena said the immediate future remains uncertain for now, as there is still no clear path on where he is headed next.
“Very good question kasi kahit ako, hindi ko pa alam,” said Ravena on Saturday after the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup quarterfinal game between TNT and Magnolia at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
“Depende. We will see the options, weigh everything. But for now, I can’t really say anything kasi wala pa talagang clear choices.”
Ravena is currently a free agent after parting ways with Dubai Basketball, a ball club he played from 2024 to 2025. Prior to that, Ravena had a four-year stint with San-en NeoPhoenix in the Japan B.League.
A Ravena in the PBA again?
The brother of Kiefer and son of Bong was in the PBA, as the league paid tribute to the Gilas squad that recently won a gold medal in the SEA Games in Thailand.
Ravena was part of a hastily-formed national team that experienced many revisions to its lineup. As he has no ongoing tie-up with any squad, Ravena was free to accept national team duties.
When asked if the PBA is an option for him in the future, the 29 year old answered in the affirmative - although he will still have to go through next season’s draft if he chooses to go that route.
“Definitely, the PBA will always be with me,” he said. “It’s always a dream of mine to play in the PBA. But for now, we have to weigh everything out with my agent, see what offers are actually on the table, and then that’s where we sort everything out.”
