THIRDY Ravena acknowledges the challenges he's facing in his stint with San-En NeoPhoenix in the Japanese B.League.
And the biggest will be changing his game from playing a forward in college to turning into a guard.
The 6-foot-3 high-flyer is preparing for the shift as he continues to work on his game before he travels to Japan.
"Definitely I have a million things to improve on, but mainly, it's shooting and dribbling," he said on Monday's NBA Republika Playoffs Party with AXA.
"I know I'm gonna be playing a smaller position than in college where I'm playing three and four. But now, I have to learn how to play one and two in Japan. So I'm working on those skills primarily, but (I'm working on) a little bit of everything as well."
Ravena has mainly worked as a forward in Ateneo, with his brilliance in the wings helping the Blue Eagles complete a three-peat in the past three UAAP seasons, while also taking home the Finals MVP in all three series.
With Gilas, it's not the case for the 23-year-old as he slides to the guard positions. He saw action for the Philippines in a 100-70 win over Indonesia in the 2021 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers last February.
That's why Ravena is already readying himself for that move even before he gets to the Land of the Rising Sun.
At the end of the day, he just wants to fly the country's flag high and proud overseas.
"No promises but I want to represent the Philippines worldwide. I'm gonna play everything that I've got every single game," he said.
