ANGELES CITY - Thirdy Ravena is set to leave for Japan Thursday and suit up for the San-en NeoPhoenix in the BLeague.
TnT Tropang Giga's head coach Bong Ravena disclosed the scheduled departure of his youngest son Tuesday night.
"Thirdy is finally leaving for Japan," said Ravena moments after the Tropang Giga's 112-101 win over Terrafirma in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Angeles University Foundation gym Tuesday night.
The 23-year-old Atenean already underwent swab testing procedure at the Makati Medical Center on Tuesday.
The TnT mentor credited team manager Gabby Cui for helping facilitate Thirdy's swab testing schedule.
"Strict talaga sila so dapat sakto yung period ng swab testing mo," said the elder Ravena, who stressed the three-time UAAP Finals MVP should be in Japan within the next 48-hour period after he was swab tested in the country.
Upon arriving in Japan, Ravena will again undergo another testing procedure and will likely be quarantined for a few days before being given clearance to finally play.
The elder Ravena said Thirdy already secured his Japanese visa and had his necessary papers settled at the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) last Monday.
