THE National Basketball League-Pilipinas starts the new season with the 2023 President’s Cup scheduled to open on Friday at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.
Seven teams are taking part in the first conference of the 2023 season led by the Taguig Generals, who won the Chairman’s Cup last January.

Camsur Express, DF Bulacan Stars, Quezon City All Stars, KBA Luid Kapampangan, City of Sta. Rosa Laguna Lions, and Tatak Gel Binan are also entered in the lates offering of the professional league catering to homegrown talents.
Bulacan opens the new conference at home against Sta Rosa Laguna at 6 p.m. following the opening rites at 5 p.m.
The teams are grouped into two with Sta Rosa Laguna, Luid Kapampangan, Bulacan, and Camsur in Group A, and Quezon City, Taguig, and Binan in Group B.
Tournament format calls for an inter-intra eliminations in which teams will play a single round robin in their group and a double round against teams of the other group.
The top two teams in each group will play in a best-of-three crossover semifinals.
The championship series will be a best-of-five affair.
