TAGUIG stayed unbeaten while Zambales essayed a come-from-behind win in National Basketball League-Pilipinas Chairman’s Cup action at the Jun Duenas Gym on Sunday.
The Generals defeated Makati Circus, 120-91, to stay on top of Group B with a 4-0 win-loss slate.
Eruption comeback
The Eruption, meanwhile, came back from an 18-point deficit to beat Tatak Gel Binan, 113-112, and hike their mark to 3-2.
Mike Sampurna had 18 points and 11 assists, while Mark Ordonez also added 18 points for Taguig, which also got 16 points from Dan Natividad in the blowout win over Makati.
The Generals were already ahead, 56-39, at the half, and continued to pad to the lead until it reached 21 during the final buzzer, the largest lead of the game.
With the defeat over the Generals, the Circus fell to 0-4.
Allen Fomera notched 44 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists as the Eruption overcame a 56-38 second quarter deficit to win the game over Binan.
Camsur Express end slump
Tatak Gel Binan dropped to 1-2.
Camsur Express, meanwhile, defeated Muntinlupa Chiefs, 108-80, to even its record to 2-2.
Kyle Domagtoy had 20 points to help the Express break a two-game losing skid.
The Chiefs have lost for the third time in four games.
